On 9/5/24:

  • USofCC presented proposals in the following areas: IV.K – Copy Machine and VI – Grievance Procedure, as well as a counter to the previously discussed proposal V.J – Flexible Work.
  • The college responded in the time since with a counter on Grievance Procedure and Flexible Work.

On 9/12/24:

  • The College rejected our Sick Leave proposal to raise the number of sick days. The College continues to claim that the legal minimum of 10 days us enough because a majority of employees do not exhaust their sick leave. We believe this speaks to our inability to use sick time and we deserve above the legal minimum. If you have experience about sick leave, please reach out.
  • The College pushed back on our Bereavement proposal and will send a counter.
  • USofCC and the College are still bargaining over salary increase. This was especially disappointing, as in the previous bargaining session the College agreed that the USofCC has some of the lowest paid people on campus, and asserted that the College would be open to giving Unit members raises that were equalizing. The counter they came up with was only 1.5% above the campus-wide raises. As a reminder, this is not even close to inflation rates over the last two years.
  • We are happy to announce that we have a Tentative Agreement (TA) signed for the following areas: IV.G Orientation Materials, IV.H Bargaining Unit List, and IV.K Copy Machine. (these are linked below)
  • We have four more TA’s, pending official signatures on the final language: Pumping Breast Milk at Work, FMLA, Long Term Disability, and Personal Leave.
