What happened 9/20:
- In response to our proposal, the College conceded in getting rid of a timeline for using bereavement leave. They also agreed to get rid of a ranking of time off allotted based on proximity to the Unit member. This is exciting and a win!
- The College said counter to our Board Meeting proposal will come in writing soon.
What happened 9/26:
- USofCC presented a proposal regarding V.J – Non discrimination & Anti Harassment Clause, as well as minor changes to VII.D – Other FT Benefits and VIII.D – Successor Clause.
- We also presented a new Salary counter of 7% wage increase for each of the two years of the new contract. USofCC is hoping to address the high inflation rates from the last few years in our current proposal, as a well as offset future inflation. The College did not accept this proposal and will come back with a counter.
What happened 10/07:
- USofCC presented a proposal regarding the formation of a Health and Safety Committee.
- USofCC presented a counter proposal to the number of vacation days that members accrue, as well as release time for voting, which the College pushed back on.
- USofCC submitted a proposal overhauling the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) and disciplinary action language. HR admitted that the current policy has caused some problems for Union members. The College will come back with a response.
What happened 10/10:
- We discussed the wage increases that both USofCC and the College have proposed. USofCC explained our position with regards to inflation, which the College pushed back on. The College acknowledged that they want to address the inequities regarding wage increase and inflation increase over the last five years, but stated that they would not be able to fully absolve this inequity.
- Both the College and USofCC gave another wage increase proposal. The College will come back with a response regarding our salary floor.
- We also asked for a response to proposed changes in the Health and Safety Committee language.
