The Bargaining Team met twice this week with the College.

On 10/22:

  • USofCC presented on language regarding the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) and disciplinary action, requesting a progressive disciplinary procedure. The College will re-work language and come back.
  • The College agreed to raise the salary floor from 45k to 47k, but maintains that this will be applied before any salary increases. They made no movement on their salary increase proposal nor signing bonus.

On 10/24:

  • The College verbally agreed to TA our Sick Time proposal, bringing the number of days from 10 to 12. The Sick Time proposal was part of an overall compensation package proposal, so we need time to see a full response, but are pleased with this motion.
  • USofCC asked about the ability to know the status of Job Description reviews. HR will get back to us about those possibilities.
  • In response to the College rejecting our request of an observer during BOT meetings, we asked about getting a public copy of the minutes. Though the College stated again that they are interested in transparency and communication with the union, they are still hesitant around that request.
  • The College is still working on getting language to us around Job Elimination notice and Rehire Rights, but committed to presenting language next week that attempts to come closer to our proposal.
  • Regarding notice of layoffs, the College verbally floated a transition plan of laid off employees that will be shared with USofCC.
