Here are updates from the last two bargaining sessions:

  • We have reached a Tentative Agreement with the College in regards to Part-Time Staff Healthcare benefits, as well as our Position Evaluation proposal. Both documents have been signed (links at the end of this post).
  • The college gave a written response to our proposed addition to Article IV: College-UsofCC Relationship regarding the Board of Trustees (BoT) and UsofCC relationship. The college also provided a written counter proposal to our PTO proposal, which we discussed on 8/9.
  • Since the beginning of bargaining, USofCC and the college have met once a week, barring occasions when either party has cancelled. The college proposed that we meet more frequently, but USofCC maintained that once a week is the pace we are prepared to go at in order to have time to review the College’s counter proposals. A union is a democratic unit which represents the membership at large, and as such, we must discuss and deliberate internally, and check in with the general membership, throughout the bargaining process. The College aggressively pushed back against our decision, and accused us of intentionally stalling the bargaining process, but our team remained steadfast.
